Alpha Delivered!

  • Today marked CNBC's Delivering Alpha Conference where we got to see Jim Crammer interview the president's chief economic advisor Larry Kudlow. The FANG erupted up and came down quickly before finding footing and moving higher. They did end the day flat. The banks moved up nicely and Boeing opened up, came down hard and took off again to the upside.
  • I found Boeing has some great morning movement this past week similar to FANG. Boeing was $3 higher in the Premarket trading, fell on its face and took off when the Stochastic indicator was at the bottom. I will be looking forward to trading Boeing next week as Alphabet options will be too expensive for me to mess with.

  • Alphabet did a typical Wednesday where it opened up, traded down and moved higher by the afternoon.

Monday Ups and Downs in the Market

  • With so much news happening this week, the market is going to react. With optimism for President Trump meeting with North Korea's President Kim drove the markets up some on Monday.
  • Tesla opened up, took a mid day breather and went higher. Tesla will continue to go up for the rest of this month despite any negative news that doesn't have to do with production. CEO Elon Musk says they will produce 5000 vehicles in the last week of June. This production figure was promised multiple times for the past year and a half. If they don't meet it this time, Tesla will plummet in July.
  • Alphabet (GOOGL) jumped up after 10am to hit 1048, but gave half of its gains back after 2pm. I have noticed that Alphabet would go up for a week and down for a week in the first half of the year. Recently in the past couple of weeks those changes have happened more rapidly in less than a week. Last week Alphabet completed a 5 day run mid day on Tuesday and went down for the remainder of Tuesday through Friday morning around 10:45am. Since Friday morning it has gone up.
  • Boeing has tread water moving between 369 and 374. When it dips, there is an opportunity to buy Call Options and be out within a couple of hours with nice gains.
  • Home Depot continued to go up on Monday. It was a focus of CNBC's Option Action on Friday with expectation of breaking out to a new high by the end of July. At it's current pace that will happen by the end of the week, but I would expect a pull back before then. Right now it has broken 200 and doesn't appear that it will trade below 200 again.
  • AT&T's purchase of Time Warner will be ruled by the court around 4pm this afternoon. We won't get a market reaction until Wednesday. This is a big deal for Disney, Comcast and Fox as the Fox sale competition increases.

More Tariffs Equal Selloff

  • After a great Wednesday in the market, Trump announced more tariffs on Canada, Mexico and Europe and the market reacted Thursday. Boeing was sold off as was some others that have risen quite a bit over the past week. I would expect them to rebound Friday as they realize the tariff talk is just talk.
  • Alphabet (GOOGL) took off while everything else was down. The tech sector did was mixed today, but Alphabet was the big winner as once it past 1100, it touched 1098 twice. What was really interesting was how it took off when everything else was down and when the market would come up some, Alphabet would go higher. Typically 2pm shows a peak in the momentum direction. It was a dipping pont for Alphabet as it went back up with the market in the last couple of hours of the market.
  • Facebook (FB) was up nicely on Thursday as they held an investors conference. Jim Crammer of CNBC's Mad Money made a nice point today how the European new privacy rules will probably affect smaller websites more than huge web marketers like Googe and Facebook.
  • General Motors (GM) had a nice pop to the upside today as they are teaming up with Waymo in autonomus driving. Jim Crammer pointed out that until today GM was the most undervalued stock in the S&P. I might believe that GM is going to benefit by Ford (F) reducing their automobile line up, however Ford is making a shift for more profitability and I would not count them out in their new auto lineup. I am sure Ford will produce the most economical vehicles and their stock will take off in the long run. Buy and reinvest your dividends as you will be very happy by 2020.

I have spent the last 2 years trying to figure this day trading with options thing out. I hit an ultimate low this past Tuesday and felt lo...
